i spent far too much money today. but check it out!! these first two i bought on compact disc while the others are delicious on vinyl.

john lennon's acoustic album is fucking great, but thats a given.

i haven't listened to bitter tears of the american indian yet, but cash looks badass enough  on the album   cover to satisfy alone.

i love david dondero. i was previously familiar with only one song on this record (you shouldn't leave a lover alone too long), but the rest is just as good.  he's on team love- saddle creek's sub record label that conor oberst started. wah wah wah bright eyes...but anyway. he's a good one.

dr. dog speaks for itself.

this mars volta record is quite different. there's only one song on each side.  the first is an entirely different version of frances the mute-i mean, entirely different-lyricsetcetc.
the second side is a live acoustic version of the widow.
yum! oh so good.

i sound a bit musicsnobbish...yuck! i promise you i am quite contrary...

this song is off of the john lennon album. this was filmed at a rally for john sinclair who was a poet in the 1960's and ran an underground newspaper and also was the leader of the white panther party (anti-racist group allied with the black panthers)  in 1969 he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for giving an undercover narcotics officer 2 joints of the good stuff. john lennon wrote this song for him and played it at the rally. 3 days later, sinclair was released.
